My image Dhangalaw Ulakal is of a herd of Dugong as they are migrating from one feeding ground to another.

Here in the Western Islands of the Torres Strait, our dugongs move from the coast of PNG, Fly River down through the top Western Islands of Boigu, Saibai and Dauan down pass my island home of Badu Island.

This image is a representation of the abundance of dugongs in the Torres Straits Sea country and was an experience I will not forget.

This image is a depiction of a time I captured a moment, whilst I was out cray fishing, alongside my uncle experiencing this annual phenomenon as the herd was on the move.

This image reflects what I saw of dugongs from the water’s surface to the bottom of the seabed. When this phenomenon, happened it really stopped time in its essence.
