This image depicts the pearl shells that used to be found in abundance in the Torres Strait.

Within the image of the four shells I have depicted four pearl-diving helmets.

The shells also depict the bad weather that divers would often come across - and one includes sharks - all of which speaks to how hard this work was and what our people had to go through to support their families.
