The Lagaw Baiwa is the brown image of a masked spirit figure with designs representing wind inter-woven and spinning as one, spreading its arms up to the sky with its legs together to the ground imitating the actions of Lagaw Baiwa connecting the sky above to the land below.

An occurrence in the middle of summer South East trade winds are blowing at this time known as Sagerraw Thonarr.

Fish food are plenty at this time of year, islanders know what fish, where and when to go fishing.

The water spout - Malu Baiwa the blue green image is of a masked spirit figure with designs representing wind inter-woven into him, spinning and spreading its arms up to the sky and leg together down to the sea below imitating the actions of a Malu Baiwa which connects the sky to the water grabing and pulling down and along with it the monsoon thunder storms bring heavy rains to region.

This occurrence comes to life when the North West trade winds blow in the Torres straits. Fish food are plentiful at this time of year, islanders know what fish and shell to collect where and when to go fishing.
