Nguzu Aadhi

Koedal in my language of Kala Lagaw Ya means Crocodile. It is one of the major totems of all Koey Buway tribes. A person of the Koedal Totem always imitates his/her totem on their death bed.

The light green along the inner side of the Koedal represents the Koedal tracks. These marking are always used by dancers and storyteller.

The background patterns represent the many types of island mats used for different ceremonies and rituals and domestic use. These patterns are painted along both arms of dancers to depict the Koedal.
