The best time to look for wongai fruit is during the month of June when the rain is pouring. Sometimes when wongai season comes, our people would go and check all the camping places around the back beaches to see if there is any ripe wongai fruit. Sometimes bats eat the ripe ones by leave the raw ones for our people to collect from the tree.
