Details
Kurrs is a Malulgal Language group term for the Hammerhead shark, the hammerhead shark is of great cultural significance in the Torres Strait. It is one of our constellation in the night sky and we use it to navigate and predict the weather. It also shows us signs while out at sea if there is trouble or bad news back at home. This knowledge has been handed down to me by my fathers and their fathers before them. This has been known for generations by my people of the Torres Strait Islanders. Tipoti Nona 2022
