I was out netting with my wife and kids at our Family beach and that day we caught some Kupur (whiting). Whilst I was clearing the net of the fish, Nako my youngest son had the job of collecting up the fish and placing them in the dish. I had observed a single kiparu fly up and land next to Nako on the beach, thinking nothing of it I continued clearing the net. I cleared the fishes to throw up to my boy, only to find Nako trying to feed a Kiparu, before I could say “hey don’t do that” the kiparu pick the fish up and flew away. It was that astonishment the body language on Nako’s face (it was like, “wow I feed a bird, pls don’t drop it) that made me try to recreate that moment through his eyes – what he would have seen.
