This new print of mine titled Dhangalaw Usul (Milky Trail) is baded on the event whent the Dugongs are graxing on the sea grass. When the Dugongs gazing, you can see clearly the milky trails in the water from a far and this tells you Dugongs are in the area when your out hunting. The Dugongs are also called Sea Cow of how they graze on sea grass that look like grass growing on land which our sandy sea floor in the Torres Strait shallow warm waters has. The Dugongs need to eat large amount of seagrass, its really important that we have plenty of sea grass for them with the Ports and changes in water temperature rising which causes sea grass dying and also our Coral Reefs. The Dugong in our Kala Lagua Ya Language is called Dhangal which is my mums totem from the tribe of Panai on Mabuiag Island. Joseph Au 2022
