This linoprint tells the story of the rising seas in the Torres Strait Islands and the monsoon seasonal king tides. Our island is at risk of not being the same in the next 20-30 years’ time with already being impacted by the high tides. We had washouts and coastal erosions and seawalls knocked down by big waves going over the seawalls.

On some other islands of the Torres Strait house were evacuated by locals that were built next to shorelines. There are fears in the Torres Strait that some island in the Torres Strait will be under water in the next couple of years with the high raising waters.
